The Second IBTec/IEEE Symposium on Industrial-based Biomedical Engineering Research (SIBER-24)

The second IBTec/IEEE Symposium on Industrial-based Biomedical Engineering Research (SIBER-24) will be held this year in response to the growing interaction between the field of biomedical engineering and healthcare industries to address the great potential impacts that engineers can provide to the whole of society.

The symposium will provide a national technical forum for experts from industry and academia to exchange ideas and present ongoing research results in state-of-the-art biomedical engineering areas such as:

  • Cardiovascular monitoring: invasive and non-invasive tools
  • Respiratory systems engineering, biomedical signal and image processing, bioengineering
  • Computational systems, engineering models and systems for health disparities research
  • Rehabilitation engineering, biomedical sensors and wearable systems
  • Biorobotics and biomechanics, diagnostic systems and technologies
  • Advancing neural technologies through machine learning
  • Health informatics
  • Translational engineering for healthcare innovation and equity
  • How start-up companies can better position themselves for success.

The symposium is hosted by the Institute of Biomedical Technologies (IBTec) at AUT and sponsored by the EMBS Chapter-IEEE New Zealand North Section.
